Doughnut Economics Journey of Knowledge Map

Icebreaker to enable meeting attendees to share in a group activity. It creates an atmosphere of active participation.

Overview
This is an interactive tool for use during group meet-ups for attendees to plot how far along the road to a full understanding of Doughnut Economics each person feels they are.  Use in Zoom calls via the Screenshare function and ask that attendees use Zoom’s Annotate feature to plot where they are along the line of knowledge between Beginner and Guru.  The tool provides for a moment of self-reflection and within a few moments creates a visual snapshot of the whole group’s level of knowledge.

Why use it?
This is an icebreaker to enable meeting attendees to share in a group activity.  It creates an atmosphere of active participation, useful for making everyone feel involved right from the start of the meeting.  It is also fun  -  we are supposed to be having fun sometimes!  And it gives an overview of how much knowledge is present in the meeting.

Who is it for?
Anyone holding a meeting about Doughnut Economics.

How long does it take?
The tool takes around one minute.

How many people is it for?
This can be used for any number of people, it simply creates a visual of how much knowledge is currently present in the meeting.

What materials do you need?
The meeting host needs to download the Tool and be prepared to Screenshare at the appointed time in the meeting’s Agenda.  Attendees may need to be guided on how to Annotate the map - this guidance can be put into Chat.

What does the facilitator need to know or be able to do?
The facilitator needs to understand how to Annotate during Zoom calls in order to guide meeting attendees who do not know how to do this. (To annotate while viewing someone else's shared screen, select View Option from the top of the Zoom window, and then choose Annotate. A toolbar appears with all your options for annotating, including text, draw, arrow, and so forth.)
